A Great Dentist

Meet Dr. Josie Dovidio, DDS

As a dentist, Dr. Dovidio loves helping her patients and making their experience more comfortable, as opposed to an event to dread. Her goals are to create long-term relationships between our team and our patients that establish a sense of trust based upon our tradition of warmth and caring, provide dental services and techniques with an emphasis on patient education and prevention, and do both at a level higher than our patients have ever experienced.

Her passion for dentistry began by volunteering at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley where she met her mentor, Dr. Josie Dovidio, who inspired her to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Sahar Yaftaly is a Simi Valley native and is thrilled to be able to serve the community in which she was raised.

Our Mission

We like our patients to feel at home when they come to our office – to enter as patients and leave as friends. Our purpose is to provide quality care for the entire family, with the advantages of modern technology paired with the comfort of an old-town private practice.

What kind of sterilization practices does your office have in place?

In our office, we are committed to putting patient safety first. That includes keeping our instruments and patient care rooms sterile. Instruments that cut bone, penetrate soft tissue, or touch mucous membranes are cleaned of debris and sterilized in a state-of-the-art autoclave between patients. Every week, the autoclave is tested to make certain it is working in compliance with CDC sterilization requirements.

To avoid cross infection (transferring infection from one patient to another), each patient care room is cleaned between patients using a surface sterilization spray. Distilled water is used for all our dental procedures to avoid microbial contamination. Our team also washes their hands and changes their gloves between patients.

You may still have questions about our sterilization practices even after coming to the office. Please let us know any concerns you may have or if we can provide you with more information about the steps we take to protect your health.
